Week 23!
I think we have a name... I wouldn't go and embroider it on anything, but we both love the conclusion we have come to.
It's been a L..O..N..G process... with many discussions! Here's how it started:
Lee - This is Steve's middle name, Steve's Dad's middle name, and Steve's Grandpa's first name. So it's been in the family for over 3 generations (that we know of). We both decided that we wanted to have "Lee" somewhere in the name. Drawback: not every name sounds good with Lee as the middle name. For example, we liked the name William (Will) for short, but Will Lee sounded really funny.
John - This is my Dad's middle name. We both liked this name as well as an alternative middle name if "Lee" didn't work out.
Logan - Steve loved this name right from the start! It grew on me very fast but I didn't really care for "Lee" or "John" as the middle name. So we kinda crossed it off the list.
At this point, we went and bought a baby name book. Steve went through all 300 pages and highlighted the ones he really liked. One of the more creative names that we came across was "Bradlee". It was a great combination and we could use "John" as the middle name. Drawback: we didn't really care for the short name "Brad". Also, he would have had the initials of "BJS".
In the end we decided to keep it really simple and stick with tradition. Soo... we would like to change the name officially from "Dot" to ....

ARRHHHH!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! You guys finally came to an agreement!! lol. I just told mom and dad and they like it. lol
But no matter what you name it, his nickname is always gonna be Dot, you know that right? lol

Hey.....I think the name you picked is cute...but what about Jonathan Lee Schweigert? That's cute too? I was just thinking about it earlier cause I was thinking how it would sound if you switched the names around.

Franks middle name is Robert because Scott's middle name and his dad's middle name is Robert. And their middle names are Robert because Scott's Grandpa's first name is Robert.

Kelly, we did think about that, but Steve's brother already has the name Jonathan for his first name and we are trying not to use a name that one of our brothers/sisters, or cousins already have. Just so it's less confusing. Thanks though!
Good for you guys! It's so hard to come up with names! No matter what you come up with it seems like someone says something to ruin it or puts their 2 cents in. I love Lee. My dad's name is Eric Lee. His brother's middle name is also Lee. Weird they both have the same middle name, I know. I guess my grandma really liked it too. My middle name is Leanne, after my dad and my mother's sister that passed away at the age of 3. Isnt' funny how a name just finally comes to you and you know it's the one? :-)
