Out To Dinner!

Lee and I went and helped my friend Amy and her little daughter tonight and then went out to dinner. Lee is big on making his own choices now for what he wants to eat. So this is what happened.

Me: Lee, would you like a hot dog or Mac N Cheese for dinner?

Lee: Ummm, Hot Gogg

Me: Ok, but Maple is getting Mac N Cheese are you sure you don't want that?

Lee: No, Hot Gogg

Me: Ok, sounds good

(About 20 minutes later after Lee got his hot dog and Maple has her Mac N Cheese)
Lee: (takes bite of hot dog, then spits it into my hand) Yucky, no like it!

Me: What? You wanted a hot dog?

Lee: No hot gogg, yucky, I Mac N Cheese?

So, what do you do?? He eats hot dogs just about every other day. I know that he LOVES them, which is why I didn't argue when he wanted one. Everyday I'm just astonished at what he says. Today seemed like it was one of those days where he woke up and was talking everything he wanted. It's crazy how fast he learns. I've never heard him say "no like it". He says yucky all the time, but not the no like it part. He just cracks me up!

Here's a picture from last week of Maple and Lee at Brookfield Zoo. She just turned 3 in March.

Happy Birthday My Sweet Baby Boy!

Every puddle needs a boy to jump in it!
Lee's 2 years old today and getting so big. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. Everyday he's saying about 10 new words. He's starting to get the concept of "the", "there", "of", and "and". The other night he said "I Get it" instead of "mine". Or he'll say "watch on TV". So those words are finally coming into his vocab.
His favorite shows right now are Blue's Clues, Wonder Pets and Thomas the Train. He loves all trains.
Lee can count to 10 but skips 4. He doesn't ever say the number 4.
He knows some of his letters of the alphabet. He says the letters "g, p, s, v and z" when you sing the song.
He doesn't know his colors at all. I think he's color blind. Anytime you ask him, he'll either say "red or blue". So we've given up on that one.
Lee still loves to read books "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and "Good Night Moon" are his favorites.
Potty training is still going strong, for about 2 weeks you didn't have any accidents, and now it's more of a if Mommy or Daddy makes me I'll go, but otherwise I just hold it and then pee my pants.
Lee's really gotten into throwing fits and wanting to do things for himself, so going on the potty was just one more thing for him to throw a fit over, so Mommy picks her battles. Speaking of being independent, Lee doesn't like to ride in the cart anymore, until he gets tired. He'll listen really good and walk next to me and help push the cart.
When he gets in trouble Lee will sit in time-out. He sits really nicely now and wait for his time to be done.
However, going to bed lately has been a huge struggle. Lee hates it and is starting to learn ways to delay going to bed. He will say he's hungry, water, shows, hugs and diddle daddle unbelieveably when we are getting ready for bed.
That's pretty much everything so far at 2. Everyday is a new adventure and we always have so much fun! Steve and I have a blast just sitting back and watching him go, we love that boy so much!
