6 Months Old

Sorry this post is a little late. Lee is almost 7 months old, but he just had his 6month check-up today at the Dr. so I thought I would post. He weighed in at 18lb4oz. He was in the 50th percentile for weight. He was 28.5" long and his head circumference was 46.2 which were both in the 95th percentile. Lee, you are a tall, skinny, very big headed baby ;) He is eating and sleeping great, and the Dr. recommended us to start yogurt. So we will probably start that next week.

We have had a few more firsts this month. Here are a few (or as many as I can remember):

- First really bad diaper rash with blisters :( Thanks Mom for the suggestion to air out his butt, and not put a diaper on him, and thanks Chan for the lotion idea! With both those suggestions, it completely cleared up in about a day.

- First snow strom.

- First airplane ride, to Las Vegas.

- First time meeting Grandma Lil, Jim, Uncle Matt, Aunt Pat, and Grandma Betty.

- First Christmas(s), that is plural, because there were a few!

- He had peas and peaches for the first time and LOVES them both! He likes peas the best.

- Started grabbing his left ear and playing with it.

- Sat in the front of the grocery cart for the first time. He was so proud of himself, he sat up tall and hung on the whole entire time. He didn't even try to eat the cart. I'm now carrying the cart cover just in case though, because I could see him try to eat the handle bar.

- He's sitting awesome now, and can correct his balance really well. He started moving his feet back and forth really fast while sitting so now his socks have no chance what-so-ever at staying on.

- Went to Church for the first time. We went to Willow Creek for their Christmas spectacular, WOW, AMAZING, and SPECTACULAR are some words to describe the service, and those don't even come close to doing it justice. Lee didn't see any of it though, because he was in the nursery. He did really well, didn't even care that we were dropping him off... he was a little fussy when we picked him up though, so he was ready to leave.

- When standing he has started taking steps like he wants to walk. He'll take about 3 and then his legs give out. He was smiling the other night and trying to walk at the same time. He couldn't do both at the same time though. So he would take a step, then smile, then take a step, then smile. LOL.

Other than that, the only big news about Lee is he cut his bottom 2 teeth. They came in about 3 days after his horrible diaper rash. His first tooth came in on December 6th. While we were waiting at the airport, I noticed that his bottom left tooth broke through. His right bottom tooth broke through on December 11th. Can you see his toofers?

Oh, and the clunk on his head was a sitting accident. He fell over and we didn't catch him in time. Ooops...

Oh he's so cute! I can't believe how much he's grown since we last saw him. And oh my gosh, NEW TEETH!!! WOW!

Miss you!

Teefies! I love those first teeth (except when I was nursing James, he bit hard).

He has grown so much. I was kind of laughing at the difference between my little ones and Lee. AnnaBeth was barely 18lb at 18 months old. I think Noelle was about the same though she may have been a bit more. AnnaBeth is in size 4T/5T at age 5 and Noelle is in size 3T at age 4, so they are tiny.

So, did he enjoy ripping paper or was he not too interested? I've had some of both. James and Noelle loved ripping and had more fun with the paper than any toys. The other three couldn't have cared too much about the wrapping but loved the boxes that the toys came in. I don't think a single one of them really played with the toys as much as either the boxes or the paper. LOL
