Big Boy Bed!

About a month ago, we took the front bar off of Lee's crib because he was starting to figure out how to climb out. This was going great until last week when I went in to check on him and he wasn't in bed. This is how I found him.

Last night I went in to his room and found him completely under his bed. He must have rolled from the floor all the way under there. It scared the pants off of me because I couldn't find him. I stuffed his crib bumper under there so that doesn't happen again. Geesh.

PS - You can tell how much he loves that blankie. Thank you Aunt Amy, Uncle Matt and Kayleigh!

Poor Fella... also an update!

I noticed today that Lee has bruised gums where his 1 year molars are coming in. On the top left side of his gums they are black/blue and very swollen. It's bruised all around where his tooth will be coming through. He seems to be doing ok, other than shoveling everything into his mouth again to chew. I forget what this is like until he's going through it. Once his tooth breaks through, he's perfectly fine and doesn't chew on anything. But during "teething", he chows... on everything!

He's walking really, really good now. It's pretty much a run at all times. He LOVES being chased. I have come to the conclussion that Lee will most likely be featured on Cops at some point in his life because he loves to be chased so much. He laughs and squeals when we (or a dog) is behind him. He also doesn't want to hold my hand anymore. He has figured out how to walk with his arms at his side (instead of straight up in the air), so now he walks like a little man and doesn't want his hand held. Although, if he needs to step up or down on something, he will grab it then. He doesn't like to crawl anywhere or up anything anymore.

He says "all done" perfectly clear. He will say this at the following times:
- First thing in the morning when he wants out of his bed.
- When he's done with a nap.
- When he's done in the bath (with a lot of coaching from me to get him out).
- When he's ready to go inside.
- When we finish reading a book.
Umm, he pretty much says it all day long! However, the only time I have really used "all done" is when we are eating. Do you think he uses it then? Nope, not on his own. He just throws his food on the floor and then I have to coax "all done" out of him. It's very strange.

When Lee goes to sleep, he still falls asleep with his blanket and binkie. In the morning, I will change his diaper, and Lee has gotten into the habit of holding onto those things while I change him. After he's rediapered, he walks to his crib and throws his binkie in his bed. Lee hands me his blanket and I throw that in with the bink. He then runs to the stairs (halfway giving me a heart attack) to go downstairs to eat. I think he's getting it, he is understanding more and more everyday.

Last story, I promise. I said before that Lee likes to be chased. Well, he learned that if he touches the fan in our living room (it rotates and scares me, so we don't allow him to play with it) I will get up and pull him away. So now, he touches the fan, while looking at me, and when I get up to go get him, he will take off running and laugh hysterically. I will try to get this on tape so you can see his little devilish laugh.

Here's the schedule we've been keeping as of lately.
8:30-9am - wake up/breakfast
11:30am - lunch
noon - nap
3pm - wake up/snack
5-6pm - dinner
7pm - milk & quiet time
7:30pm - bed

*He's not fully on 1 nap a day yet. Somedays he still does 2 but it's getting fewer and fewer. Oh, we are also 100% off the bottle. We only use straw sippy cups now. I haven't washed a bottle this whole week, and Lee could have cared less. YEAH! Next will be the binkie, but that will take me a few more years. I am still loving that and can't give it up yet. It's just too good when you need a plug ;)!

Waking Up is Hard To Do

I woke Lee up from his Afternoon nap. It was going on 5:30 and I didn't want him up all night. I thought I would tape it so you could see how sleepy he is when he wakes up. Again... another video for Steve.

Waiting for Daddy!

Lee had his first bad dream tonight, at least that's what I think it was. He was babbaling in his sleep (something that he does most nights) and then he started this high pitched screaming. I went in his room and he was crying so hard and shaking. Is that normal? Now I can't get back to sleep.

Well, onto a more happier subject. Lee and I agree that you should do whatever you like, even if it means wearing a bucket on your head!

Below is the cutest picture, I just love it. Steve had just walked in the door from work and the dogs ran over. Lee looked really quick to see what was going on and scrambled over to Daddy as fast as he could get there. Then they all sat there waiting for him to "pet & pay attention" to them.

And this would be Steve trying to get to Lee, and the dogs fighting for attention.
Have a good Wednesday!!

8 Months Old!

Officially 8 months old. Wow, it's just craziness. He's getting to be such a big boy. He's into everything which always makes for a fun day! He is turning into a toddler it seems, and not so much a baby.

I love going into his room first thing in the morning and seeing him standing in his crib, smiling away at me. He loves to stand up so much, that it's been a problem putting him to bed because he will stand there now and hold out his hand and cry for you to come back. He will eventually fall asleep, but it takes about 10 minutes. It's kinda funny. He's learning though, that once he's in his crib, we're not coming back in to get him until he sleeps. Although at night when he's asleep, I do go in there and pick him up to hold him. He's just too cuddly and sweet not too.

He's pulling up all the time. He has learned how to fall down too. He will fall into a sitting position and then pull himself right back up to stand again. He's crazy. Other than pulling up, he is still army crawling. I'm not sure he's ever going to normal crawl but that's ok with me. The slower... the better ;)

He's still teething pretty good. He's into chewing on his thumbs now, so I think back teeth are starting to come down. He now has his top 4 teeth and his bottom 2 teeth. You can see the picture below of all his "goofer" teeth. His top teeth are so big, LOL. He's been grinding his teeth which was funny because Steve said "Hey, what are you doing" to Lee, then Steve said "Hey, Aghhh, stop grinding your teeth!!!". Ha, ha. It really bothered Steve.

Feeding Lee has been fun! He gags or throws-up any type of "normal" food we put in his mouth. Lee only likes his bottles, water, yogurt or his baby food. We even tried the stage 3 green beans and rice. There are little bits of rice mixed in green beans and he gagged on that. So any suggestions on how to get him to eat whole foods better, will be greatly appreciated!!

Other than that he's not talking at all. He coos and gaga's but he doesn't say anything resembling a word. Although, if you say his name he turns towards you. If you say "are you hungry?" he starts breathing really hard and moving his feet very fast. If you tell him "no, no" he will look at you and give you this smile (and will also crinkle up his nose), little stinker knows better.

Sleeping Arrangement

How on earth can anyone fall asleep like this? He is sound asleep and snoring while I took this picture. Afterward, I repositioned him to a more... um... normal sleeping position.

20 Weeks Old!

Lee your growing up SO fast! Here are a few things you have started in the last two weeks.

You have started to grab at things. You LOVE to grab your feet. You started doing that about 2 weeks ago. The first time you grabbed your feet it was first thing in the morning. You were laying on your changing table and I had just undressed you to change your diaper. After your feet were free out of your PJ's, up they went and you just went and grabbed them both. It was SO cute. You had this smile like "hey, look what I can do". You have been doing it ever since. You will now grab your feet with socks on and pull your socks off.

Last week, you slept from 8:30pm - 7am straight through. You woke up so happy and smiley. You have been doing that pretty much ever since.

You had your 4 month check up. You weighed 16lb 6oz, 26 inches long, and head was 43.4cm. He's been having quite a bit of reflux for awhile now. So he had me stop rice cereal with a spoon and put it in the evening bottles. His reflux has completely stopped now. I'm so happy :)

Below is a picture of Lee grabbing onto Dakota. I wrote before how when he grabs Dakota she will just lay there. Below is of him starting to grab onto her fur.

Still not feeling that great...
Yesterday Lee was acting very strange. First off, he slept from 9pm to 6am straight through. Not a bad thing, but it was 9 hours so I thought he would be starving. I try and feed him and he would only take 2oz. He's been taking 5-6oz usually. He was also acting like it was hurting him to eat. Now that I think about it, it's more like I think he was too tired to eat. He feel asleep again somewhere between 6:30 - 6:45am and slept til 9:30am. I made another bottle thinking, "Ok, now he's gotta be starving", but nope, he only ate 1oz. He fell asleep again at 10am. He then slept till 1:45pm. He took 3oz. at 2pm but it was a fight with him. I called the pediatrition and she had us come in just to make sure. We went and she couldn't find anything wrong. He didn't have a fever and was acting normal for her. So she said that he probably has a virus and to watch for a fever. We came home and he slept and slept a bunch more. He was really cranky when he was awake too.

Today seems a little better, he's more content and not crabby, but he's still not his normal self. He just ate 3oz. So at least he's taking in more fluid.

8 Weeks Old

Well, we've hit the 8 weeks mark which is almost 2 months. He's growing and growing so much. I can't believe how big he seems to me. Then I see a baby that's like 6 months old and they look enormous, Lee looks tiny. I can't imagine Lee that big. I'm trying to enjoy everyday, but it just seems to go too fast.

I put Lee through another grueling photoshoot ;) For some reason I just love photographing him. I have always loved photography, but I'm enjoying it more and more lately. I broke out my old camera that's a film camera and I took the pictures below. It was SO much fun. If you get them developed at Walmart, you can get them put on a CD for only $1.97!

Ok, here's what Lee has been up to in the last 2 weeks (since I didn't update last week). The best part (even though I didn't get a picture of it), he's started smiling a lot at me and Steve! If we tell him we love him he gets this HUGE gummy smile that's just adorable.

Steve & I have heard him start to giggle in his sleep. It's just the start, but SO adorable! He also is having bad dreams too. He will be sound asleep and then his bottom lip pouts out and he starts to cry. Then he goes right back to sleep after a couple seconds.

Lets see, what else, oh he slept last night for 8 hours straight for the very first time. He was sounds asleep by 8:30pm and didn't make a peep until 4:30am and then he screamed! He ate 3oz and went back to bed until 7am. He's still getting up at 7am almost everyday.

Lastly, he wore his first 3-6 month outfit this week. It was actually onesie PJ's for bed.

Hee, hee ;0)

This is his expression most of the time. He always looks so worried. I think he's going to be a worry-wart. Although in this picture it looks like he's shocked, his eyebrows are actually furrowed together.

5 Weeks!
The cheeks just keep gettin chubby!

So last Friday (7/13) we had a Dr. appointment and I said that I would post an update with how much he weighed. It was a rough night that night and my Mom Janet came over and watched him the whole night on Friday. It was AWESOME! I got a full nights sleep (whoo-hoo, go me)! Anyways, the weekend was busy as usually so I'm just getting to posting now, sorry. Thanks again Grandma Shoes for coming and staying up with Lee all night!

LJ weighed in at 10lbs 4oz. He gained almost 3lb in 1 month. Steve guessed high 8lbz, and I guessed low 9lbz. He blew us both out of the ballpark.

We had a mini photoshoot this morning. I wanted to get some updated pictures of Lee. He was in a really good mood, so I took my chances and he ended up falling asleep. I did get some cute pictures though :)

Today I thought I would start getting LJ used to his crib, so when he fell asleep on the couch, I picked him up and carried him upstairs. He was passed out. I rocked him a couple more minutes just to make sure, he was totally gone. Out like a light. So I carefully layed him down in his crib and turned on his monitor. I checked to make sure he was still asleep and he's staring back at me, eyes wide open! So we went back and forth a couple times, falling asleep, waking up when layed down in the crib, before I just left and closed the door. It took about 15 minutes before he fell asleep. Can babies really tell between a bassinet (what he's been sleeping in up until today) and his crib?

Another thing that I noticed this week is that Lee really likes to hold onto things. He will hold my finger when I am feeding him, he will hold onto my shirt when he is being carried, rocked or falling asleep. It's so funny. I had a stuffed horse that has bells in his feet. I was dangling it infront of him and he was moving his arms all around trying to grab onto that too. He came nowhere near getting them, but I thought that was funny. He's also tracking a lot better. He will watch me walk from one side of the room to the other. He was also watching his jingle horse as I moved it from one side to the other. I think he can finally see things.

One more thing that I wanted to mention for week 5, well, it's really week 4, because that is when he did it, but anyways, LJ slept 6 hours straight for the first time on Saturday. YEAH! We all went to sleep at 9pm and when Lee started fussing later on I checked the clock (thinking it was midnight when he was usually getting up) and it was 3am!! I woke Steve up to see if he got up and I didn't hear, he said "no why?" I told him that it was 3am and Lee was just getting up for the first time. He asked if he was alright, LOL. We were so used to getting up every 2-3 hours, 6 hours is AMAZING! Last night (Sunday) Lee slept 5 1/2 hours straight.

He's getting really good at holding up his head. His head goes higher, but I missed it, and then he fell asleep.

I don't know if you can tell, but he's holding onto my shirt.
