Backyard Fun!

From Backyard Fun

Lately we've been really into bubbles, shooting guns and baseball (thank you again papa and Grandma!!). Lee calls baseball "bee-ball". He loves it. Yesterday was a beautiful day. I sat back and let Steve and Lee play together. I took the plunge and turned auto off on my camera so I could manually focus. It blurrs out the background more. Here's what I got. Have I mentioned that I have too many pictures of Lee?

Coloring Fun!

You would think I would get sick of taking pictures of Lee by now. You would think that I have hundreds (if not thousands) of pictures that I have to store because I can't seem to throw any away. You would think I would run out of stuff to photograph.

But I don't. I just don't. I could photograph him starring at a wall. He was trying SO hard the other day to color a perfect red circle. "Red" is his favorite color. "Circle" is his favorite shape.

He was concentrating so hard he didn't even see me get the camera. Whenever I start snapping pictures he usually runs screaming the other way. He's been kinda difficult lately. That doesn't stop me though. I still try.

Can you see the concentration oozing out of him? Notice that he's left handed? He does everything with his left hand.

Now you know that Lee is really concentrating because the tongue came out. It doesn't usually make an appearance unless he's trying to figure something out and it's going horribly wrong.

Here he decided to try orange, but notice it's still red that he prefers.

I admit I have a problem. I do need help. I just can't stop taking pictures of Lee. He's just too stinkin' cute.

Big Boy Bed!

About a month ago, we took the front bar off of Lee's crib because he was starting to figure out how to climb out. This was going great until last week when I went in to check on him and he wasn't in bed. This is how I found him.

Last night I went in to his room and found him completely under his bed. He must have rolled from the floor all the way under there. It scared the pants off of me because I couldn't find him. I stuffed his crib bumper under there so that doesn't happen again. Geesh.

PS - You can tell how much he loves that blankie. Thank you Aunt Amy, Uncle Matt and Kayleigh!

Big Boy Underwear!

While Lee's really into going on the potty, I snapped a few pictures of him in his underwear. He wanted the camera and I told him he couldn't have it so he was getting mad at me, but here's a few that I did take of him and one with him by his new bike!

Potty and Brushing Teeth

(Sitting in the bathrrom sink, butt naked, brushing his teeth)

Anything and everything in the bathroom has become a great adventure lately. We've moved on from the "I absolutely love having my teeth brushed" stage to "I must bite the persons hands whose brushing my teeth till they give me the tooth brush". He's actually quite good at brushing them too. Not the back teeth, just the front ones.

The picture above was taken tonight right before bed time. Lee really likes to sit on the potty and go "peeeeeee" as he would say. He's really into watching himself go. He'll also tell you anywhere/anytime when he's going in his diaper. For instance I heard over the baby monitor today while he was supposed to be sleeping "uh, oh Momma. Poop. Potty Momma. Uh oh". He's no where near becomming potty trained, it's just something that he's infatuated with and if it were summer and able to run around in a diaper, I just might have tried. However it's not summer, he's heavily clothed, therefore, I'm sticking with after diaper changes and before bed/bath time.

19 Months Old

Playing video games with Daddy. You will sit on his lap for hours if we let you. You love wearing the headset and listening.

Lee's almost 2 years old. I feel that if I blink too hard it will be here and it really truely scares me. On the other hand, he's getting to be so big and smart, everyday he is surprising me. Here are some funny and new things he's doing.

Walking up and down stairs all by himself. He refuses help and wants to do it himself. Scares the life out of me because he's actually walking down them instead of crawling now.

If you ask him his favorite letter he'll say "p". Last night at my parents we were there for dinner and after I asked him his letter, he followed it by singing (actually singing and you could tell it was the abc song) "p p p p p p p p, p p p p p p p p." He was singing to the tune of ABC's but only used the letter "p".

If you ask him how old he is, he'll tell you he's 2.

He's starting to get the TV shows he watches. He'll sit there and laugh or he'll say "oh no" at the appropriate oh no times.

He can turn on the TV and then he'll bring you the remote and either ask for you to turn on Elmo or Choo Choos.

He's really curious about putting on his own clothes. He'll get his arm in or his leg but then is stuck.

His signing is getting much better. He can sign: amen, all done, more, eat, drink, pig, home, bath, please, dadddy and potty.

He also knows where the following body parts are: hair, ears, eyes, nose, teeth, tongue, hands, belly button and feet.

3 favorite toys right now are trains, mr. potato head and books.

You can feed yourself just about anything with a fork or spoon. It's still a bit messy, but you do a very good job!

You're still going to bed about 7pm every night, waking up between 7-8am and napping from noon-3pm (most days).

When I ask you a question, you will say "umm" before giving me the answer. It's really funny and I laugh everytime. You will also ask me what things are, "whats it" is what I think you're saying. You want to know what everything is, and you repeat what I tell you. 85% of the time, I still don't understand you, but you have a lot to say!

You LOVE to play video games with Daddy. He will even switch video games so you can sit on his lap and play with him.

You love to color. You are most definately left handed also.

Bedtime the last few nights has been horrible. You will cry and cry and cry. I have no clue why other than you're extra tired and don't want to go to sleep. You're fine if we're in there with you but you hate being left alone.

You refuse to wear socks. I don't even put them on you anymore. Once your shoes are off, so are the socks!

Below are some pictures from the last month or so.

Playing in the snow. Like socks you won't keep gloves on either.

Climbing on everything.
Trying to dress yourself.

You love to help me make cookies... and eat them.

There were major problems with the cars and your garage. You can see the tongue sticking out, you were thinking hard!

Playing with snowy.

My sister Jackie always says "snowy". It's "snowy outside" or "snowy boots" so that's what we always call it in our family. Here are a few pictures of Lee playing with snowy today inside. It's too cold and windy to play outside, so we brought the outside to us! I must say, it was not nearly as big a mess as I thought. We just put down towels and mopped up quickly after. Lee did a great job listening and keeping the snowy in the bucket.

Words and Talking

Lee has been talking up a storm for the past three weeks. His words are finally starting to make sense and I can now tell what he is saying to me. Here are some favorites that he likes to say (besides "choo-choo twain"). Also, in parenthesis I will put how he pronounces them.

More, Up, Down, All Done, Please (peas), Thank You (ah chu), Socks (cocks), Shoes (shoosh), Mommy, Daddy, Papa, Nana, Grandma (nama), Jackie, Kelly (Kakee), Cheese, Milk, Water, Juice (jujice), Doggie, Ball, Bath, Come on(comema) , Let go (wetgo), Barney, Elmo, Dance, Potty (potta), Cookie, Cracker, Yucky (yunny), TV (PT), Press Play (prepa - used in the car DVD player), and Nye-nye.

He asks to go to bed most of the time, then cries as he walks himself upstairs.

He started today blowing his nose for the first time.

He will always put "please" or "thank you" at the end of all his words and sometimes it doesn't fit at all. It's really cute.

He will bring you his shoes to put on and wear. He loves to wear other peoples shoes too.

He really, really likes trains, have I mentioned that yet?

18 - Month Dr. Update
27lb, 37" tall and he was in the 90th percentile.

Dear Sweet Baby Boy - Part 3

Please, please.... PLEASE, I'm begging you, learn a new phrase besides "choo-choo, twain". You do LOVE your trains, but seriously, it's the only thing you have talked about for days (umm, maybe weeks now).

Thank you very much!
Love,
Mommy
