Lee is one week old today, and it feels like it's been 3 days. Man has the time flown by. The hospital stay was a blurr... I feel like I was only half conscious for that experience.
Steve has been AWESOME! I keep telling everyone that I talk to how amazing he is. He was such a great labor partner, he was a great everything... when we were at home timing the contractions, with everyone that I had, he would tell me the time and then have this HUGE smile on his face, because my contractions were steady and not fading away. Steve said that he was so excited to be a Dad and this was one step closer. He ran around the house getting everything that we needed for the hospital. When we were driving to the hospital, he pulled over when I had a labor pain so he wasn't hitting any bumps (and smiling at the same time). He didn't once complain about me (almost) breaking his fingers when I had a contraction. He ran around and got me anything that I could possibly need before I even asked. That is just an example of how this past week has been and it hasn't stopped since we got home either. He has truely been a gift from God, I love him so much!
When Lee was born he was having some breathing problems (nothing major, but still a concern) because he came face up when he delivered. The pediatrition said that when you deliver that way, sometimes it's like getting socked in the nose, so his nostrils were very swollen. So it made feeding hard because he could only breath through his mouth. Not only that but he snored and had a hard time clearing out what fluid he had left in his lungs. So they monitored him and had him in the nursery at night for feedings. I tried nursing him but that didn't go so well (which is another long story, so I'll talk about that later). Well, if you talked to Steve on the phone and he told you about his breathing, it has completely cleared up and he's been doing great since we brought Lee home. The pediatrition gave him some affrin drops that reduced the swelling.
Here are some milestones we have hit with our new little guy in the first week:
Here are some milestones we have hit with our new little guy in the first week:
~ Monday he had his first bath.
~ We had our first car ride on Wednesday.
~ He had his first bath at home on Wednesday too.
~ Thursday he had his first trip to the grocery store.
~ On Thursday he also pooped 6 times! He's a pooping machine :D
~ Friday he had his first Dr. appointment. He was perfectly healthy and weighed in at 6lb 13oz.
~ Saturday he peed all over for the first time. It just shot out and went straight over his head. At one point it hit him in the face... he also pee'd through his first diaper.
~ Sunday he had his first Father's Day (yeah!)
~ On Sunday he also had his first projectile vomit. Scared Steve to death because it was almost on him :D
~ Sunday he also had his first cry fest where nothing or no one could sooth him. Unfortunately it was at Grandma & Grandpa's... not fun! I felt bad because everyone had to listen to a screaming baby. He eventually got over it and fell asleep.
~ Today we had 2 diapers that Lee pee'd through. One was on Steve ;) Hee, hee... poor guy.
Steve went back to work today which was really sad to see him go, but Lee and I did pretty good on our own. Lee is currently eating about 3-4 ounces of formula (my milk never ended up coming in). He's doing really good with the formula though. He's sleeping between 3-4 hours as well for the most part. He was up for 2 hours today just looking around and checking things out.
Sorry for the boring post, I'm sure you can skip a lot of it ;0) LOL... I just wanted to note some things before it's all done and I have forgotten everything. I'll update again soon!

This is so cool that you guys started a blog for baby Lee! It will be soooooo neat for him to look back to see how much you guys love him and just how many people love him. I can't wait to meet the little guy!
Wow! So fun! Brings back memories! I had so much help, I was so lucky. Did Lee get circumsized? (No idea if I spelled that right!?) Malachy did and that was not fun! Every time I changed his diaper I wanted to cry because I felt so bad for the little guy. Are you not working now. I hope I can get Crystal to bring me out there some time soon. Maybe we can find a day to come where Mark will watch the kids for us so we can just hold the baby! I will work on that! Mark has Mondays off but I think Crystal babysits Mondays so maybe I can find a day Mark can take off as a personal day later in the week?
Thanks for the comments ;0)
I would LOVE to have you guys over!! You can bring the kids too if you want, the only problem might be the long car ride, but if they don't mind... I don't mind.
I'm not working anymore so I'm home all day, everyday ;) We have our home repairs getting done next Wednesday, but other than that, I don't have anything planned.
Trust me...no one was bothered by Lee crying. Babys cry....it's what they do. lol. And I'm so glad that everything has been going well with him. I can't wait to see him baby book when he's older.
Love ya SOOOOO much!!!!

Oh this is so not boring! You are doing really great to get it all posted and documented for the first time. I just pulled out Carter's 1st year calendar yesterday to start writing in. I just haven't gotten to it before now and it was really bothering me. I already have forgotten all the details of the beginning days and weeks and it breaks my heart. Talk about a blur, try having a 2 1/2 year old in the mix. Yikes! At any rate, I love your post and love the adoreable picture of him smiling. That's a priceless pic that you'll treasure forever!
